No Smoking Policy

Policy Statement

Elijah’s Retreat is dedicated to ensuring a clean, healthy, and comfortable environment for all our guests. As part of this commitment, all cabins at Elijah’s Retreat are designated as non-smoking areas.

Scope

This policy applies to all guests, visitors, staff, and contractors within the cabin premises, including indoor spaces, balconies, decks, and within 25 feet of any cabin entrance.

Policy Details

1. No Smoking Indoors:
   • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all cabins, including living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and any other enclosed spaces.
2. No Smoking on Balconies and Decks:
   • Smoking is not allowed on any balconies, decks, or similar outdoor spaces attached to the cabins.
3. Smoking Areas:
   • Guests wishing to smoke may do so only at a distance greater than 25 feet from the entrance to all cabins and dispose of cigarettes appropriately in outdoor trash cans. 
4. Distance from Entrances:
   • Smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of any cabin entrance or exit to prevent smoke from entering the cabins.

Enforcement

• Initial Violation:
  • Guests found violating the non-smoking policy will be asked to cease smoking immediately and will be directed to the designated smoking area.
  • A written warning will be issued for the first violation.
• Subsequent Violations:
  • If a guest continues to violate the policy after receiving a warning, a cleaning fee of $250 will be charged to their account to cover the cost of cleaning and deodorizing the cabin.
  • Continued violations may result in the guest being asked to vacate the premises without a refund.

Communication

• Upon Booking:
  • Guests will be informed of the non-smoking policy at the time of booking.
• Check-In:
  • The policy will be reiterated during the check-in process, and guests will be required to acknowledge their understanding and agreement.

Rationale

This policy is in place to:

• Protect the health and comfort of all guests.
• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of our cabins.
• Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations.
